The first part of the Carpet Steam Cleaning process is to ‘Power Vacuum’ of all areas. This ensures the best results by removing dirt and dust while it is dry before any cleaning solutions are applied. This is an essential and often over looked part of any professional carpet cleaning process. Some companies leave this to the customer to do with whatever vacuum they have or don’t bother with this at all. A ‘Power Vacuum’ has a powered rotating brush which gets down deep into the pile while vacuuming.

Second, all carpets are pre- treated with a broad spectrum stain remover. The stain remover is allowed to settle into the pile for 5 -7 minutes to dissolve the stains ready to be removed in the steam cleaning process. Any stains remaining after this can be treated again or specialist stain removers will be used for stubborn stains like tea and coffee, red wine, rust marks or chewing gum etc.

(optional) At this stage the carpets can also be treated with general or specific odour eliminators.

The carpets are then steam cleaned, the steam rinses out the dissolved stains and the stain remover itself, leaving the carpets clean and fresh. The steam is created by the machine by heating water constantly held in its tank and pumping it through nozzles at the end of the wand at 300psi of pressure. Because of the pressure not a lot of water is used and because the steam is then extracted (sucked up) immediately at the point of contact with the carpet it dries very quickly. The waste water is recovered back into the same unit that holds the hot water.
